This feature allows you assign update agent role to the selected endpoint. The Update Agent downloads and manages the updates for Seqrite Endpoint Protection. The Update Agent provides you the flexibility to download the updates on a single machine. All the Seqrite Endpoint Protection clients fetch the updates from this centralized location. It also provides the facility of automatically updating Seqrite Endpoint Protection clients for enhancements or bug fixes.
To assign the update agent role, follow these steps:
- On the Status page, select the endpoints you want to assign the update agent role.
- The client action bar is enabled above the table. In the Client Actions dropdown, select Update Agent Role.
- In the Please Select dropdown, select Assign.
- Click Submit.
- The Update Agent Role dialog appears. Here you can select either option Domain Name or IP address to assign the update agent role. For more than 500+ endpoints, select IP address. As per your selection, Update Manager URL will be created and shared.
- A confirmation message appears. Click OK.
- The update agent role is assigned to the selected endpoint. On the Status page, the legend for Update Role Assigned is displayed for the respective endpoint.
Update Agent will be installed on Domain Name or on IP address as per configuration.
Revoke Update Agent Role
This feature allows you to revoke the update agent role for the selected endpoint.
To revoke the update agent role, follow these steps:
- On the Status page, select the endpoints for which you want to revoke the update agent role.
- In the Client Actions dropdown, select Update Agent Role.
- In the Please Select dropdown, select Revoke.
- Click Submit.
- A confirmation message appears. Click OK.
The update agent role is revoked for the selected endpoint.
