To upgrade the clients, follow these steps:
-
On the Status page, select the endpoints you want to upgrade.
Ensure that the client environment (OS) and the client version is the same for all the selected endpoints.
-
From the Client Action drop-down values, select Upgrade Clients.
-
Click Submit.
The upgrade process will begin for the selected clients. Once the client version is updated to the latest version, the AV Status column will display Reboot Required. A reboot is mandatory to get the AV updated with latest version.
-
Restart the endpoint.
After the reboot, the AV Status column will display Success, indicating that the endpoint has been successfully upgraded to the latest version.
Important Information:
- N-1 (where N represents the current version, e.g., v10.12, and N-1 would be v10.11) clients are considered a minor upgrade. It is highly recommended to reboot the device to update the AV version.
- N-2 (where N represents the current version, e.g., v10.12, and N-2 would be v10.10 and earlier) clients are considered a major upgrade. A reboot is mandatory, as the antivirus (AV) is completely uninstalled. Upon reboot, the new AV will be installed on the system.
- Major and minor upgrades are supported for clients with the latest VDBs.
This table outlines the upgrade availability for different operating systems based on the version type.
Upgrade Type | Win | Linux | Mac |
---|---|---|---|
