Wipe Template
The Wipe Template screen helps you create and manage remote wipe templates that can be used to securely erase sensitive data from managed endpoints. These templates enable administrators to define wipe actions that can be executed on endpoints in the event of device loss, theft, compromise, employee offboarding, or non-compliance with organizational security policies.
The wipe operation can be initiated for both online and offline endpoints. If an endpoint is online, the configured wipe action is executed immediately. If the endpoint is offline, the wipe request is securely queued and automatically executed the next time the endpoint connects to the management server, ensuring that sensitive organizational data remains protected regardless of device availability.
By using wipe templates, you can:
- Protect confidential enterprise data from unauthorized access.
- Enforce organizational security and compliance policies through remote data removal.
- Respond quickly to security incidents involving lost, stolen, or compromised devices.
- Automate data removal for inactive or non-compliant endpoints based on organizational requirements.
- Improve overall endpoint security by ensuring that remote wipe actions are consistently applied when the endpoint becomes available.
Wipe templates provide a standardized and efficient approach to remotely removing sensitive data, helping organizations reduce the risk of data leakage while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements.
