Installation Steps

  1. Verify the installer packager. The installer package that you have usually consists of:

    • Java 21
    • MongoDB 8.2.6
    • NATS Server v2.12.7
    • WildFly 36
    • Client packages
    • Stand-alone tools
    • Bundled utilities required for service start-up and configuration
  2. Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator.

  3. The Welcome to Seqrite Endpoint Protection Setup Wizard screen appears. Click the Start button.

  4. The Seqrite Endpoint Protection Software License Agreement screen appears. Read the Software License Agreement and Privacy Policy.

  5. Click the Yes, I agree button.

  6. The Installation folder screen appears. The default installation path is C:\Program Files. If required, you can choose a different path by clicking the Browse button.

  7. Click Next. The Server Setup screen appears. Select the appropriate server type based on your deployment: Site Server or Control Center. Ensure that your product key or license supports multi-site setup if you choose Control Center.

  8. Select Site Server and click Next. The Server Configuration screen appears.

  9. Choose how the server should be identified:

    • IP Address, or
    • Domain Name
  10. Confirm the SSL Port (default: 443).

  11. Click Test Port to validate connectivity.

  12. After validation succeeds, click Next. A Proxy Settings screen appears.

  13. If your organization uses a proxy, select Proxy Settings checkbox.

    a. Enter Proxy server IP or hostname and Port.

    b. If required, enable authentication and enter credentials.

    c. Click Test Connection.

  14. Click Next. This completes your installation process.

Note:

Default client is installed automatcally during Control Center installation, and self-protection is enabled immediately.

However, activation and registration do not occur until the first Site Server is onboarded.

After a Site Server becomes available, the default client automatically registers with the first onboarded Site Server and starts functioning as a managed endpoint.

As a result, two default clients are displayed: one for the Control Center and one for the Site Server.

Make a note that if the default client is not installed or registered successfully, the server remains unprotected and self-protection is not enabled.

SSR Onboarding from the SSR Console

As soon as you log in to the SSR console, an EPP console tour window appears. If you start the tour, at the end of it, a pop up appears asking you to onboard the SSR to Control Center.

Even if you skip the tour, the same pop up appears asking you to onboard the SSR to Control Center.

  • Click the Send Onboarding Request button to go to the Configuration/Onboard to Control Center page.
  • Click the Don’t remind me again button to close the dialog box and stop these alerts from appearing.
  • Click the Remind me later button to close the dialog box. It appears again on your next login.
  • Click the cancel icon (X) to close the dialog box. It appears again on your next login.

Note that an onboarding pop-up appears when you log in as a user other than the Super Admin. Click Do Not Show This Again and proceed with your work.

Onboarding Steps after Configuring SSR

Follow these steps to onboard the site server from the site server console.

  1. On the SSR console, go to Configurations > Onboarding to Control Center.
  2. Enter the Control Center Host Name/IP Address of the aggregator server to which this site server needs to be connected.
  3. Enter the Control Center Port number.
  4. Click Send Onboarding Request to continue.

The request goes to the aggregator server. An alert is displayed on the Control Center dashboard requesting to approve the onboarding request. Wait for the approval. Once approved, then the SSR details are reflected in the site server list on the Control Center console and on the Configurations > Onboarding to Control Center page of the SSR.

While the request is sent from the SSR, it shows Pending for Approval with the following details on the Onboarding to Control Center page of the SSR console.

Pending onboarding with Control Center:

  • Control Center IP
  • Port Number
  • Request sent on date and time

Once approved, it shows Successful Onboarding message with these details:

  • Control Center IP
  • Port Number
  • Onboarded on Date and Time
  • Last Connected Date and Time
