Pre-requisite

To add DarwinBox instance as a connector in Seqrite Data Privacy, complete the following step:

Creating DarwinBox Studio User

A Darwinbox Studio user is a special account for integrations and API access.
To create a studio user, follow these steps:

  1. After logging in to DarwinBox, go to Admin Apps and click DarwinBox Studio.

  2. Go to Studio User and click Add Studio User.

  3. Enter the user name, type, email ID, username, and password and click Create.

    Note: This username and password will be used for authentication.

Generating API Key

To generate the API key, follow these steps:

  1. After logging in to DarwinBox, go to Admin Apps and click DarwinBox Studio.
  2. Go to DarwinBox API Keys and click CONFIGURE DARWINBOX API.

  3. Select the user you have created as a Studio User.
  4. Select the module for which you want to provide the API.
  5. Add or select API Configuration name, Authentication type, User (you have created as a Studio User), Module (for which you want to provide the API), Endpoint and then click Save.

  6. Click View icon.

  7. DarwinBox API key popup with API key and DataSet key appears.

Configuring DarwinBox Connector Instance in Seqrite Data Privacy

Follow these steps to configure Darwinbox connector:

  1. In the left navigation pane, click Discovery and Classification and then click Connectors.
  2. Configured Data Sources page is displayed.

  3. Select DarwinBox from the configured data source list, and then click Add Instance.
  4. Enter Basic Instance Details and Owner details:
    • Name
    • Description
    • Country
    • City
    • Time Zone
    • Data Source Owner: The person who owns the data source and makes technical decisions about it.
    • Business Owner: The person who is responsible for the business decisions about the data source.

  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter Specific Instance Details:
    • Base URL: Configured base URL of DarwinBox for an enterprise.
    • API Key: A unique identifier provided by the service provider to allow third-party applications to access the service securely.
    • DataSetkey: A specific identifier within the service that is used to access a particular dataset or set of data within the service
    • User Name
    • Password
    • employee-ids

  7. Click Check Connection.
  8. If the provided details are accurate, the connection with DarwinBox will be established successfully.

  9. Click Next.
  10. Select the stream and click Next.
    The Stream page displays all streams configured in the DarwinBox that require scanning. You can review the list and select the streams you need.

  11. Enter the Data Source Scan Availability details.
    This setting defines when the data source is available for on-demand scan, re-indexing scan, or deep scan.

    • Availability: Monthly, weekly or daily
    • Scan Days
    • Available Time

  12. Click Next.
  13. Enter Scan Schedule/Scan Frequency details:
    • Scan Frequency
    • Deep Scan Frequency

      Note:

      • The data source will be available for scanning monthly on selected date.
      • The data source will be scanned based on the user‑defined interval. A deep scan will be performed after the number of scan cycles specified by the user.

  14. Click Add Instance.
    Instance of the data source is added successfully.
