Assign Custom Policy

Use Assign Custom Policy to assign one or more custom policies to selected endpoints. Custom policies override the settings defined in the Container Policy.

To assign a custom policy:

  1. On the Status page, select the endpoints to which you want to assign a custom policy.
  2. From Client Actions, select Assign Custom Policy.
  3. In the Assign Custom Policy dialog, select the required custom policy or policies.
  4. Under Expiry Date, configure the policy assignment.
  5. Under Expiry Time, configure the time you want the policy to be unassigned.
  6. Click Assign.

The Assign Custom Policy dialog provides the following options:

Option Description
Search by policy Search for a specific custom policy by name.
Policy Type Filter custom policies based on their policy type.
Custom Policies Displays the available custom policies. Select the required policy to assign it to the selected endpoints.
Expiry Date Select whether the policy assignment is permanent or temporary. For a temporary assignment, specify the expiry date.
Expiry Time Specify the time at which a temporary policy assignment expires.

Note: For a Policy Applied Permanently assignment, the expiry date and time are not required.

Policy assignment behavior

  • A custom policy overrides the corresponding settings of the Container Policy for the selected endpoints.
  • A permanent custom policy remains assigned until it is manually removed or replaced.
  • A temporary custom policy is automatically unassigned when the configured expiry date and time are reached.
