Manage Shadow Copy Storage

Shadow Copy files are stored in the configured WebDAV storage location. If the storage volume becomes full, increase the available storage or remove Shadow Copy files that are outside the configured retention period.

  1. Log in to the Windows Server hosting the WebDAV server.
  2. Identify the drive used for WebDAV storage.
  3. Increase the disk size through the VM/cloud/storage management console.
  4. Open Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) on the Windows Server.
  5. Right-click the WebDAV storage volume and select Extend Volume.
  6. Complete the wizard and verify the additional free space.

Option 2 – Delete old Shadow Copy files

  1. Log in to the Windows Server hosting the WebDAV server.
  2. Open the configured WebDAV storage folder.
  3. Identify Shadow Copy files older than 60 days.
  4. Delete the old files.
  5. Empty the Recycle Bin, if applicable.
  6. Verify that sufficient free space is available on the storage drive.

Note: Do not delete Shadow Copy files that are within the configured 60-day retention period.
