The Remote Shell page allows you to configure the commands that you are permitted to execute during a Remote Shell session. Only the commands added to the exception list are authorized for execution. Any command that is not included in the list is blocked.
You can also search for configured commands and delete commands that are no longer required.
Adding a Remote Shell Command
To allow a command to be executed during a Remote Shell session, add it to the Remote Shell exception list.
To add a command:
- Go to Configurations > Remote Shell.
- Click Add Exception.
- In the Add Exception dialog box, specify the following details:
- Command – Enter the command that you want to allow during a Remote Shell session.
- Operating System – Select the operating system on which the command is permitted to run.
- Click Save.
The command is added to the exception list and is available for execution during Remote Shell sessions on the selected operating system.
Note: Only the commands configured on the Remote Shell page can be executed during a Remote Shell session. All other commands are blocked.
Searching for a Command
The Search option allows you to quickly locate configured Remote Shell commands.
To search for a command:
- Go to Configurations > Remote Shell.
- From the search criteria list, select one of the following:
- Command – Search by command name.
- Operating System – Search by operating system.
- Enter the search value in the Search box.
- The matching records are displayed in the command list.
Deleting a Command
You can remove commands that are no longer required.
To delete a command:
- Go to Configurations > Remote Shell.
- Locate the required command in the exception list.
- Click the Delete icon corresponding to the command.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
The selected command is removed from the exception list and can no longer be executed during a Remote Shell session.
Important: Configure only trusted and approved commands. Commands executed through Remote Shell run on the selected endpoint and may directly impact the system. Ensure that only authorized administrators manage the command exception list.
