Difference between Migration and Upgrade

Upgrading does not directly affect the data. The data is not moved or touched during an upgrade. Whereas migrating data refers to moving data from one database into another database.
The following table provides more information while migrating from the earlier version to the later version.

Note:

  • All the OS that are supported by EPS Cloud 10.6 are supported while migrating. Not supported OS are – Win Vista, Win 2003, and Win XP SP1/SP2.
  • The IE11 required for Win 7.
  • Rebooting is required once the migration process is completed.
  • Migration is not applicable for the clients with Linux and Mac operating systems.
  • No migration support for versions previous to EPS 7.6 SP5 to EPS 8.x or EPS Cloud 1.6.x.
